This contract is entered into between Flynt Hylls Gypsy Horses (known as the breeder) and ________________________________ (known as mare owner).

The service fees, payable in advance to breeder and including a non-refundable $300 booking fee, are $1100. This covers stud fee only. If AI is required (for cooled semen), additional fees equal to the amount of the vet charge and next day shipping charges are applicable (approximately $350) for each collection required.

A live foal guarantee exists up to 24 hours of age. If live foal does not exist (i.e., stillborn) a free breeding will be given the following breeding year. All mares must be ultrasounded at mare owner’s expense by a state licensed veterinarian within 60 days of breeding and breeder notified of results by verterinarian within 7 days. If ultrasound proves negative 60 days after service a free breeding wil be given within one year only of the original breeding date. All mares, regardless of insemenation method, will be given veterinary-recommended immunizations at intervals of 5, 7, and 9 months at mare owner’s expense. Failure to immunize mare appropriately will void the live foal guarantee. If the mare is examined to be in foal but becomes barren during gestation she is eligible for a return breeding if a veterinarian certificate of barrenness is received by the breeder within seven days of the examination. If the mare produces a live foal that is unable to stand alone and nurse and subsequently dies a veterinarian certificate must be provided to the breeder within seven days of death. In any of these cases the required veterinarian certificate shall be to affirm that the mare has been examined, immunized, is free from any intrauterine infections, and has tested negative for EVA and EHV. A state-licensed veterinary certificate is required for any of the aforementioned conditions. Free breeding under these terms does not include AI and shipping fees if required.

If AI is required, shipments will be sent to state-licensed veterinarians only. Written veterinary certification of insemenation dates will need to be returned to the stallion owner within 7 days of insemenation. If the mare does not settle after the first AI attempt a negative uterine culture will be required. A maximum of three shipments will be sent for AI of a mare. If mare cannot settle after three shipments only live cover will be offered to fulfill the contract terms.

The live foal guarantee does not apply: (a) if the mare is sold, exported, or dies. (b) if the mare is not foaled under veterinary supervision. (c) if the mare is not vaccinated for EVA and EHV. (d) if the mare is not properly vaccinated during pregnancy. (e) if embroy transfer (ET) is performed (e) if appropriate veterinary certification is not received by the stallion owner in a timely manner (7 days).

For all Gypsy mares a copy of any and all registration certificates (front and back, please) must accompany this signed contract.

The breeder reserves the right to refuse service to any mare. The breeder has the mare owner’s permission to employ veterinary assistance if necessary and administer any rememdy on vets discretion reasonably required to complete breeding at the expense of the mare owner. Mares being bred by AI (cooled semen) must be ultrasounded to determine follicle size prior to AI collection for best chances of impregnation. Ultrasound must be performed by a state licensed veterinarian.

Prior to breeding, mare owner will provide a state licensed veterinary certification of mare’s health, recent negative EVA and/or proof of immunization and current negative coggins (in last 6 months). Documents must accompany all signed contracts proving freedom from disease or infection. All stock under the breeder’s care are run at the mare owner’s risk. The mare owner assumes all veterinary service charges incurred while in the breeder’s possession.

Refunds of stallion service fees will be given only if the stallion dies prior to mare settling or if for other reasons the stallion is unable to produce viable semen.

Boarding fees of $8 per day, plus additional fees for any special needs, dietary or otherwise, are payable upon delivery of mare to breeding site.

This agreement shall be completed before acceptance of any animal by the breeder.
