Nebraska Horse Expo
March 13 - March 15, 2009
Lincoln, NE
While we took last place as part of the Mane Challenge, we did have a fun time and we did introduce many people to the Gypsy Horse. And we did make it to the final round of the driving class! This was FeeBee’s first event off the farm, and she did fabulous! She took everything in stride and handled all the challenges well.
The Mane Challenge was a contest between 10 teams in a series of 5 different events. The top four placings in each event got points that counted towards the individual team scores. The first day’s classes consisted of Showmanship and Pleasure (western or english). The second day’s classes were Trail and Driving. The final day’s competition was a Stake’s Race. Sherman T competed in the Showmanship and Trail Classes. Fee Bee took part in the Showmanship, Pleasure, Driving, and Stakes Race. Flynn was entered in the Pleasure, Trail, Driving, and Stakes Race.
In the Stakes Race Fee Bee proved that short, fat girls can move, and move fast! She booked it down to the other end of the arena and back! While her time was not the fastest, she sure did get everyone who was watching hooping and hollering when she came thundering back to gate! Flynn did make it the final class in both the Pleasure and Driving classes. The judge sure thought he was good, though not quite the best with all the other breeds there.
