About Us

Ron and I are Kansas natives (both from the Manhattan area) and long-time horse enthusiasts. We have been raising, training, and playing with horses for over 20 years. We are not horse traders; we still own the first horse we ever purchased; a handsome and gentle quarter horse gelding. He is semi-retired now due to a viral infection (EPM) contracted several years ago. He still loves to work with us and is allowed to do so on a limited basis.

My daughter and I have enjoyed a shared love of horses and together have experienced many areas of the equestrian world. We have competed in show jumping (okay, MY DAUGHTER competed, I watched), competitive trail (what a blast! And a great learning experience!), western show, and in more recent years medieval gaming and jousting (also a blast!).

As I become older I have become more interested in my heritage. My research of my heritage led me to England and Ireland where I discovered the Gypsy Cob. It was love at first sight and I knew I wanted more. I have never felt a passion for a particular breed that I feel for the Gypsy. Perhaps it is the link to the past as well as it’s incredible beauty that has enthralled me and drawn me into it’ s world.

We love our horses; now that our children are grown and moved on the horses are our children. When we moved onto the new farm the barn was the first structure we built! We continue to make improvements to our property to reach our goal of having a first-rate Gypsy breeding facility.

Flynn was our first Gypsy horse and we are very proud of him. He is a prime example of what a Gypsy should be. Conformationally he is perfect; big boned, tons of feather, very pretty head and small ears. And his temperament is out-of-this-world. Under saddle you’d never know he is a stallion. Flynn rides under saddle OR bareback, and pulls a cart as well. We have competed in medieval gaming with him and he did great and was a REAL crowd pleaser. As a three-year-old Flynn started competing in western pleasure classes and has proven himself among Gypsies and other breeds. He consistently places in the top 3 of his classes, and frequently takes first or second place.

Our goals are to run a quality breeding operation, to promote the Gypsy Horse in the USA, and to educate others on the breed. We would much rather produce a few high quality horses than many lower quality Gypsies so we are being selective in the stock we purchase and whom we purchase it from. To date all of our horses were imported by Black Forest Shire & Gypsy Horses.
