Gypsy Horse Registeries

The Gypsy horse is very new to this country; the first imports were in the mid-1990 s. The first American registries were also established around this time. While some new registries for these horses caution against a blue eye or two, most gypsy breeders don’t frown on it and some actually breed for it!

True Romani gypsies don’t register their horses so the registries are run by non-gypsies, people not familiar with the breed or the gypsy ways. Please take advice from people who know what to look for in this breed, not from people who are trying to change generations of breeding!

Since breed registries are so new for the Gypsy horse, DNA testing has been established to form a modern data bank and many people have worked countless hours to ensure the colorful history and a bright future is preserved for this wonderful breed.
